Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty is a corrective procedure designed for patients who have undergone one or more previous nose surgeries and are dissatisfied with the aesthetic or functional results. It may also be recommended for individuals who, despite a technically successful operation, are not fully content with their nasal appearance or breathing function. This procedure requires advanced surgical expertise and an artistic eye to restore balance, harmony, and confidence.

Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty is more challenging for both the patient and the surgeon compared to the first surgery. A certain period must pass after the initial operation before revision surgery can be performed. Depending on existing problems and healing progress, this period usually ranges from a minimum of 6 months to 1 year. The main principle is to allow the nose to complete its healing and achieve its final shape. In most revision cases, reshaping the nose and reconstructing its framework requires cartilage grafts. There are three main graft options: cartilage from the ear, cartilage taken from the ribs, and irradiated (processed) cadaver cartilage. Just like in primary rhinoplasty, achieving a successful revision result depends on correctly identifying existing issues, aligning the surgeon’s capabilities with the patient’s expectations, and ensuring a smooth recovery process.
